Unity and Abu Dhabi Gaming will host Community Developer Day Abu Dhabi on November 12, 2026, bringing together game developers, studios and industry professionals for technical sessions, product updates and networking opportunities.

The event will take place at Yas Conference Centre in Abu Dhabi, running from 10am to 5pm Gulf Standard Time, according to the official registration page.

Organised in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Gaming, the developer day will cover Unity's engine roadmap, AI-powered user acquisition and monetisation, development workflows using AI agents, and strategies for building game studios around existing communities.

One of the main sessions, The Unity Engine Roadmap, will be presented by Mark Schoennagel, Senior Manager of Advocacy at Unity. The presentation will examine the transition from Unity 6 towards Unity 7, including developments in graphics, user interfaces, 2D tools and workflows that allow developers and AI assistants to interact with projects beyond the Unity Editor.

The agenda also includes a session from Sham Saleh and Dan Francis, founders of game studio Fateless, titled Building a $14m Community: How We Built a Studio Backwards (and Why It Worked).

The founders will discuss how Fateless established a creator community of three million followers before building its studio, and how that approach contributed to raising $14 million.

The session will also explore how the community continues to influence development of the studio's game, Godforge.

Unity's Anup A and Kartheek Gantela will lead a session on the company's Grow products, covering user acquisition and monetisation. The presentation will include Unity Vector, an AI-powered system designed to match players with relevant games.

Another technical session, presented by Unity Principal Advocate Mike Geig, will focus on command-line development workflows, including automated build pipelines, package management and the use of AI agents to support development tasks.

Beyond the main presentations, attendees will have opportunities to receive one-on-one feedback on their Unity projects from company experts.

The event will also feature interactive AI demonstrations built with Unity Sentis, including experiences that respond to Arabic and English voice or text commands, alongside an Arabic-speaking AI avatar.

A dedicated games experience zone will allow visitors to try playable titles, while networking sessions will provide opportunities for developers and studios to connect with other members of the regional games industry.

Community Developer Day Abu Dhabi is open to developers at different stages of their careers, from students and emerging creators to established studios.

Registration is available through the official Community Developer Day Abu Dhabi website.
