Savvy and MCIT expand Saudi gaming partnership

Savvy Games Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to expand support for local talent, entrepreneurs and startups in the Kingdom’s games and esports industry.

Under the agreement, Savvy Academy programmes and masterclasses will be made available through the Saudi Digital Academy, widening access to games industry training and expertise.

The partnership will also bring together Savvy Academy’s Nine66 Incubator and MCIT’s CODE incubator under the Code-Nine66 programme. The initiative is designed to support Saudi games startups with specialist programmes, industry expertise and opportunities to develop and grow their businesses.

The agreement builds on a number of initiatives aimed at developing Saudi Arabia’s domestic games industry. Savvy Academy already operates training and development programmes for aspiring games professionals, while Nine66 was established to support developers and studios across the region.

Savvy Games Group, which is owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, has been tasked with helping develop the Kingdom into a global hub for games and esports as part of Saudi Arabia’s National Gaming and Esports Strategy.

The new agreement was announced during LEAP 2026 in Riyadh.
