Euro University of Bahrain (EUB) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bahrain E-Sports Federation to strengthen links between higher education and Bahrain's gaming and esports industry.

The agreement aims to provide EUB students with practical exposure to esports, opportunities to engage with industry professionals and skills development beyond traditional classroom learning.

The partnership will also support greater collaboration between the university and federation across esports, gaming, technology and related student development initiatives.

A central focus of the agreement is connecting academic education with the practical demands of the esports industry, allowing students to gain a better understanding of the skills and experience needed to pursue opportunities in the sector.

Through closer engagement with industry professionals, students will have opportunities to explore different aspects of gaming and esports while developing skills that can be applied beyond their academic studies.

The collaboration also creates a framework for the two organisations to work together on future initiatives that connect students with Bahrain's wider gaming and technology ecosystem.

For EUB, the agreement forms part of its efforts to build relationships with industry

organisations and ensure students have opportunities to gain experience in sectors connected to the digital economy.

The partnership also highlights the role educational institutions can play in supporting the development of local gaming and esports talent, particularly as the industry creates opportunities across areas beyond competitive play.

While esports competition remains a prominent part of the sector, the wider industry also

encompasses areas such as event management, broadcasting, technology and digital content production.

Closer cooperation between universities and esports organisations can help students better understand these career paths and the professional skills associated with them.

For Bahrain's gaming and esports sector, the agreement represents another connection between academic institutions and industry bodies, with an emphasis on practical learning, professional engagement and developing the next generation of talent.
